Barring minor disruption by some Sri Ram Sene activists in Mysore, screening of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's film My Name Is Khan went off peacefully in Karnataka, police said.

A report from Mysore said eight Sri Rama Sene activists were taken into custody for preventing the screening of the film at a local theatre this morning.

The activists tore banners and posters of the film exhibited at the theatre but were immediately taken into custody by police.

Around 20 theatres in Bangalore where the film was being shown had 'houseful' boards put up.

With strict security outside theatres, the situation was "absolutely peaceful and normal", police said.
