Kanchi Sankaracharya Jayendra Saraswathi will present a 14.5kg golden crown studded with diamonds to the famous hill temple of Lord Venkateswara at Tirumala in Tirupati.
The three feet high crown would be handed over to the officials of Tirumala Tirupathi Devastanam, which manages the temple, on October 19.
After performing poojas, the about Rs2.5 crore crown would be adorned to the presiding deity on October 22, Sankaracharya told reporters in Kanchipuram today.
