Ruchika case: Rathore moves court for anticipatory bail

Abha, the lawyer-wife of 67-year-old Rathore, submitted before the judge that "fabricated and forged" facts were being presented by Ruchika's family in the case.

Former Haryana DGP SPS Rathore, who faces imminent arrest in the Ruchika case following filing of fresh FIRs against him, today moved for anticipatory bail before a sessions court which adjourned proceedings after hearing arguments.

Abha, the lawyer-wife of 67-year-old Rathore, submitted before district and sessions judge SP Singh that "fabricated and forged" facts were being presented by the family of Ruchika Girhotra in the case, in which the former IPS officer had got six months' imprisonment.

She alleged that her husband was facing a "nothing but a trial by the media", and that she had been informed about the filing of fresh FIRs against him through the press.

To a question by the judge on whether she was in possession of the copies of the FIRs, Abha replied in the negative.

After hearing the arguments, the court adjourned the proceeedings.
