Off spinner Ronak Shah scalped six wickets for 12 runs to take SM Patel Institute of Commerce (SMPIC) to an emphatic 66-run win over HK Arts College (HKAC), in the inter-college knockout cricket tournament at the LD Arts College ground on Saturday.

Winning the toss, SMPIC captain Kavish Vora decided to bat first. But the batsmen failed to capitalise on a good start. Nishant Dalwadi's 27 and Bhumin Shukla's 20 were not enough as SMPIC struggled to reach the three-figure mark. However, the last wicket added 30 valuable runs, with Hans Rajpriya contributing 22, to give the HKAC bowlers something to bowl at.

Later in the day, SMPIC manager Gurudutta Japee admitted that his batsmen fell well short of expectations. HKAC seamer Bharat Raol (5/29) was the wrecker-in-chief.
HKAC then needed to score just three runs an over for victory. But they floundered as

Vora tossed the ball to Shah, who wasted no time in putting the batsmen on the back foot. The spin doctor ripped through the HKAC batting order, restricting them to 84 - 66 runs short of their target.
