Three masked robbers today entered Bank of Maharashtra and shot at its manager before decamping with Rs2.51 lakh, police said.
Three motobike-borne youth entered the bank at Gunavad locality on Indore-Ahmedabad National Highway at noon.
They first shot at manager Manish Adlavadkar who sustained an injury on his hand, superintendent of police Rakesh Kumar Gupta told PTI. Thereafter, they fired into the air and then at the cash counter before running away with Rs2.51 lakh cash, he added.
Gupta said while one robber was fleeing his mask got off, adding that a manhunt has been launched nab the culprits. He said the police were keeping a close watch on the roads to ensure that the culprits do not run away from the district.
The culprits were between 15-18 years of age, police said adding the injured manager has been admitted in a private hospital.
