Rashtriya Janata Dal today strongly condemned former BJP chief Rajnath Singh's statement cautioning the UPA Government against implementing Ranganath Mishra Commission recommendations on minority reservation and urged the Centre to implement it immediately.
Talking to reporters, RJD spokesman Shakeel Ahmed Khan and general secretary Ramkripal Yadav said the RJD "strongly condemns the statement of former BJP chief cautioning the Centre against implementing the recommendations of Ranganath Mishra Commission."
Referring to Singh's statement that implementation of the recommendations of the Commission would promote religious conversion which would eventually pose threat to unity and integrity of the country, Khan said it would rather strengthen the country's unity and intergrity.
The Centre should outrightly reject Singh's overture as the report was in the national interest, he said and termed his statement as "anti-minority and anti-nation".
