A day after Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal formally split over differences on their movement turning political, a rumour doing the rounds in Delhi was that the split was allegedly engineered by right wing groups.

It is also believed that erstwhile team Anna member Kiran Bedi, who is raising her voice against going political, would get a larger role in the BJP's political campaign in the days ahead and may also be offered the leadership role in the Delhi assembly elections.

“The RSS and the BJP have a clear role in what is happening between Hazare and his team. Before Anna met Kejriwal and others on Wednesday, he had a meeting with Ramdev on Tuesday night about which no one in Team Kejriwal had any idea about. Not only that, after meeting Kejriwal and company on Wednesday, Hazare again met Ramdev and several others,” sources told DNA.

“Hazare has flirted around with Ramdev in the past also. Earlier, he had kept secret information about details of his meeting with law minister Salman Khurshid,” the sources added.

The duo announced their going on separate paths on Wednesday after a meeting of 45 prominent people. “At the meeting, industrialist Sitaram Jindal was the first to speak. He said activists should work towards defeating the Congress and strengthening the opposition,” the sources said.

Jindal's suggestion was similar to that of Bedi and Ramdev's line of action, who have been clearly asking for the team to support the lesser evil, the BJP. Bedi had also refused to participate in Kejirwal's recent fast for the same reason.

“Jindal had apparently also met Hazare recently in Bangalore. Besides Bedi and Ramdev, former army chief VK Singh is also playing an active role in the whole issue,” sources added.

Asked about the RSS and the BJP being responsible for split between Anna and Kejriwal, members of Kejirwal-led group refused to comment.
