PDP activists today said it is high time that the government take some bold initiatives for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue.
    
Resolution of Kashmir problem is key to lasting peace in South Asia region and both the state and union governments should take bold steps to solve the issue as per wishes and aspirations of people, PDP leaders told a gathering of party workers.
    
Among those who addressed the gathering include PDP vice president Trilok Singh Bajwa, general secretary Balbir Singh and MLAs Rafiq Hussain Khan and Choudhary Zulfikar Ali.     

The PDP leaders said there is a need to create an atmosphere of trust and confidence in Kashmir valley.
    
Demanding revocation of Armed Forces Special Power Act, they said political prisoners and innocent people, languishing in jails across the state, should be released to create an atmosphere conducive for establishing peace in Jammu and Kashmir.
    
They also demanded opening of Jammu-Sailkote, Bandipore- Gurez-Gilgit, Chhamb Jourian-Mirpur, Nowshere-Mirpur-Kotli and Teetwal-Chilhan routes so that the state could be developed as a business hub.
