Rescuers are busy making a tunnel to link the dug pit with the 150 feet deep borewell in which a four-year-old boy has been stuck since November 9 in Jagatpura village in Shahpura town near here.
A pit of similar depth was dug first using earth- moving machines and later manually at a distance of 19.5 feet from the borewell.
The rescuers have so far dug a six-feet-long tunnel starting from the pit, and work is expected to complete by tonight or tomorrow morning, an official told PTI.
The boy, Sahil had fallen into the borewell on November 9 while playing with his elder sister.
The borewell belongs to his family and was closed earlier. But on the previous night, his father Laxman Singh and grandfather Bhanwar Singh got some pipes out from it and left it open. They were supposed to close it the next day but before that, the boy unfortunately fell into it.
