Guwahati refinery and the police today denied the claim by anti-talk faction of ULFA that it was involved in the oil tank blast which injured 13 people.

Guwahati refinery deputy general manager WR Baruah said here that a slob oil tank number 56 exploded accidentally last night injuring the 13 people.

Baruah and Guwahati SSP Apurba Jyoti Baruah said security was strict in and around the refinery at Noonmati area and there was "no question of any sabotage".

"The militants are trying to take advantage of the accidental blast by claiming responsibility. There is absolutely no chance of any sabotage as security is strict," the police official said.

Immediately after the blast the Paresh Baruah faction of ULFA had claimed responsibility for it through e-mails sent to media houses.

The injured are being treated at Gauhati Medical College Hospital and all of them are out of danger, official sources said.
