Soon, CG Road will get a new landmark and the NR School premises will sport a stylish look.

Ahmedabad-based developer Shree Balaji group has purchased the school land for Rs23 croreand roped in Mumbai's well-known architect Hafeez Contractor to design the building.

Balaji won the bidding for NR that was held at the charity commissioner's office on Tuesday. They are planning a 12-storied office-space building on a 3,000 sq yard plot that promises to be the new attraction of that area.

The striking thing about the project is that it will be a high-end office building with amenities like gym, coffee shop, steam and sauna bath facilities as well as jacuzzi. What's more, the building is being designed by proven architect/designer Hafeez Constructor, who is also doing the proposed 35-floor ICICI building in Gandhinagar.

Each office will measure 500 sq feet and will be sold at an estimated cost of Rs25 lakh. There will be 100 office units in the building.

Ashish Shah, promoter of Shree Balaji Group, said "There are many in the city who want to have their offices on CG Road. However, the exponential property prices are holding them from buying one for themselves there."

Therefore, this building that will house 100 offices, will make it within their reach, added Shah..

For parking, the developers are planning ground as well as basement facilities for their potential clients.

The construction work of the project is expected to begin in two months and bookings will also start in the same period. The NR School has been temporarily shifted at the GLS campus opposite Law Garden. The trust has sold the land in order to buy new property for a bigger campus for their proposed institute near Bopal-Sanand Road.

The trust has received Rs3.30 crore of the total amount as token and rest (85%) of the amount is due to be paid within four months.
Executive vice-president of GLS, Sudhir Nanavati, said: "Things got clear yesterday afternoon when one of the two bidders managed to bag the deal. We will be using this money for our new proposed campus that will come up near Bopal. We are in search of appropriate land of around 50,000 sq yard.
