A rat held up an Air India flight to Riyadh with 115 passengers for over four hours after it was spotted inside the aircraft, the second such incident in four months.
A passenger noticed the rat when the Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode-Riyadh flight was ready to take off at 3 pm last evening.
The passengers were asked to disembark and the airline authorities carried out fumigation to trace the rat that could harm the aircraft's wiring.
It was finally caught after a three-hour search and the flight took off at 7.35 pm, airport sources said.
In September last year, a rat delayed a London-bound Air India flight from the Rajasansi airport in Amritsar.
The flight with 238 passengers on board was delayed for 11 hours as the staff searched for the rodent.
