With the NDA alliance in Bihar  in trouble over the spat between Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi, LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan today dared the BJP to snap  its ties with JD(U) over the "humiliating" treatment meted out to it by the Bihar chief minister.

"Nitish Kumar has humiliated BJP so much that if it  has any self-esteem, it should immediately snap its ties with JD(U)," Paswan, whose party is in alliance with Lalu Prasad-led RJD in Bihar, said.

The LJP chief further said, "After receiving so many  blows, if the BJP leaders still say the alliance will continue, it means either this is a fake fight to address different votebanks or the BJP has literally become so dead in Bihar that it cannot react like a living entity."

Paswan also questioned the move of Kumar to return the  relief money to Gujarat.

He said that the money given for flood relief belongs  neither to Kumar nor to Modi but to the people and demanded a  probe into the episode.

"Kumar should explain what money he is returning. The  money was given to Bihar by Modi government two years back for flood relief work. If it was not spent, then it is a crime.  And if it was spent, from where is the money now being returned. Is it from the rightful share of Dalits?" Paswan asked.

Kumar had returned Rs five crore given by the Gujarat  government to Bihar in 2008 for Kosi flood relief. He was miffed at advertisements in local newspapers during the BJP national executive meeting in Patna on June 12-13 by some youths thanking Modi for the aid.
