Rajkot police commissioner Geetha Johri was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for nearly eight hours on Tuesday. Johri had presented herself at the CBI office in Gandhinagar in response to the summons issued to her and five other IPS officers (two retired) in connection with the Sohrabuddin Sheikh fake encounter case. She would be questioned again on Wednesday.
Retired IPS officer GC Raighar also appeared at the CBI office in response to the summons issued by the probe agency. He, too, was questioned for several hours.
IPS officer Rajneesh Rai, who had appeared before the probe agency on Monday, came to the CBI office on Tuesday too. Rai told DNA that he had not presented any documents to the CBI on Monday and had come just to record his statement. But the probe agency was ill-prepared and was not in a position to question him. The CBI wanted some time to prepare a questionnaire before questioning him, the police officer said.
