The actor, who extensively wrote about the equation that he shared with Khanna, tweeted about the flurry of emotions that ran through him as he walked his way to the crematorium.
Superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who along with son, actor Abhishek had attended the last rites of his colleague and late superstar Rajesh Khanna on Thursday, poured his heart out on the micro blogging site to express his grief.
The actor, who extensively wrote about the equation that he shared with Khanna, tweeted about the flurry of emotions that ran through him as he walked his way to the crematorium. The funeral procession, which made its way from Khanna’s bungalow Aashirward at Bandra to the crematorium at Juhu, saw such a huge turnout of people wanting to catch a last glimpse of the first superstar of Indian films.
He posted, “The funeral of Rajesh Khanna was poignant and crowded .. the crowds were in throngs, with scant respect for the situation..pity !! For the crowds it is always a moment of an event to see so many stars assemble .. not one of respect to him that passed away. Traffic to the cremation ground was horrid and blocked .. had to get down and walk from Jalsa to the site virtually ..! 400 meters ! More of the strangulating crowds at the cremation.” He later added, “Cremation over, customary to come home and bathe in neem leaf water ..”
He also expressed his concern over another colleague, actor Shatrughan Sinha, who has also been in and out of hospital a couple of times in the last couple of weeks. It was a health scare for the legendary actor as his family admitted him to Lilavati after he developed a lung allergy due to the renovation in his house.
Apparently the situation worsened and now if reports are to be believed, the actor has undergone a by-pass surgery. Though Bachchan doesn’t reveal too much, he does confirm that the actor did undergo a heart surgery as he dropped in to Lilavati to enquire about his health and later posted, “And as we settle in, learn of Shatrughan Sinha in hospital, with by-pass heart surgery ..drove down to visit him ..he recovers well Shatrughan and I started together almost in the Industry .. he being 4 years younger ! Was his usual humorous talkative self .. Shatrughan surgery was sudden, developed breathlessness and rushed. Not ethical to talk details of ailment, but he permitted me.He has been watching “Guru” in bed .. twice he said .. asked after Abhishek .. they will go to visit him.”
