Jaipur: The Rajasthan government has constituted a five-member committee to assess swine flu situation and advise the health department to check H1N1 cases in the winter season, when the disease will be more infectious.
The high-level committee was set up in the wake of fresh cases and the possibility of further spread of the disease in the winter season, OP Gupta, director, public health said today.
The committee, headed by the Sawai Man Singh Hospital superintendent, Dr Narpat Singh Shekhawat, would guide the department on necessary actions to be taken to contain the spread of virus.
Gupta said onset of winter prompted constitution of the committee as weather would be more conducive in the season for the spread of viral infection.
Out of the 10 swine flu deaths in the state, five were from Jaipur, four from Jodhpur and one from Kota, he said.
