Rajasthan's higher education and power minister, Jitendra Singh today said the state government has earmarked three per cent budgetary support amounting to Rs17,500 towards e-governance in all state departments.
The day is not far away when Rajasthan would become another silicon valley after Bangalore as special economic zone emerged a potential platform for IT investors, Singh told media persons here.
Rajasthan has become the first state to have Rajiv Gandhi Seva Kendra with touch screen machines in every panchayat with an investment of Rs10 lakh each, he said.
Besides, power corporations' work, billing and related information have been computerised for customers at a cost of Rs450 crores, the minister said.
A two-day national meet on "E-governance from citizens' perspectives agenda" will be held here from February 18 in
which IT ministers of all states would take part, Singh said.
Another such meet "Indiasoft-2010", an international IT event for exhibitors, buyers-sellers and states will be held from March 10-12, he added.
Forty-five member IT buyer delegation from France, Spain and Germany will attend the events organised by the Electronics and Computer Software Export Promotion Council.
