One person was struck dead by lightning here, police said today.
Heavy rains lashed Puducherry last night and the 24-year-old resident of Mangalam village was sleeping outside his house when lightning struck.
Puducherry and its suburbs received 162mm rain during the last 24 hours ending 8.30am today.
