Rahul pitches for youth's pivot role in Cong in Amethi

AMETHI: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Thursday pitched for the youth taking up a pivot role in the party to revive the organization in Amethi for speedy development of his Lok Sabha constituency.

"Agar Amethi ko aage badhana hai to rajniti mein yovaon ko aage lana hohga" (If Amethi has to be taken on the path of progress, youth have to be brought to the forefront)", Gandhi said while addressing rural youth conference at a function as the chief guest.

He said youth in Congress would be given more responsibilities and "together we would work for the improvement of society as well as development of Amethi".

Rahul stressed on the role of education for the development of the constituency. "Agar Amethi ko aage badhana hai to shiksha par vishesh dhyan dena hoga (If Amethi has to be taken on the path of development special attention needs to be given to education)", he said.

Speaking on the role of the Rajiv Gandhi IIT at Tikarmafi and Indira Gandhi Rashtirya Uddayan Academy at adjacent Rae Bareli, Rahul said more such instititions would be opened while the existing ones would be upgraded.

He also referred to primary education going off track and sought people's support to face the challenge.

Later, Rahul inaugurated the computerisation of Gauriganj post office and distributed job cards to 500 persons in Amethi tehsil under national employment scheme and said development of the country was not possible without uplift of villages.
