Punjab government today reiterated its claim on the proposed international airport coming up in the city, maintaining that the site was located in the state itself.

"The airport is in Punjab and nobody can deny it," deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal told reporters here.

Neighbouring Haryana has also been demanding its inclusion as a partner state in the project.

Haryana chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda recently said there was no dispute with the Punjab government on the naming of the proposed international airport at Chandigarh.

Hooda said it had been decided at a meeting attended by the chief ministers of Punjab, Haryana and Union aviation minister Vayalar Ravi.

The aviation ministry had listed both Haryana and Punjab as equal partners in the project.
