Santosh Mane a 30-year-old driver took over a Satara-bound bus at Swargate depot as per schedule and went on a road-rampage killing 8 and injuring 29 people. DNA has a list of the deceased.

1.     Ankush Tikone, 46, Ankush Tikone, 46, Resident of Akluj was a Courier service agent working with Tej Courier Agency who picked up parcels from midnight to 6am from Phaltan, Baramati, Akluj and Pune. He got down from this bus for freshening up. The driver knocked him down first. His 13 year old daughter studies in Pune, and his son is handicapped. He is a father of three. His friend Santosh Dhanorkar, informed DNA about Ankush.

2.     Ram Lalit Shukla, 23, Bhadoli, UP was a construction worker who recently sent three months' savings for his mother’s operation. Shukla was going to Pune station to drop his friends.

3.     Pinkesh Khandelwal, 35, Mukundnagar Maharshinagar had come to drop his 11-year-old son Ritesh to school. Ritesh has a severe head injury and has been taken to the hospital for CT Scan.

4.     Akshay Pise:  The 23-year-old student of Pune Vidyarthi Griha College of Engineering student. He was a second year Electronics and Telecommunication student. He was knocked down by the bus when he was standing for the traffic lights to go green at Mitra Mandal chowk when the bus coming from wrong side hit him. He had no choice of moving away as there was no road for him to go. His father is a tailor and has a tailoring shop at Somvar Peth. His mother was inconsolable. Sandeep Musale, a teacher at the college, said, 'He had a very promising career. The college has students’ insurance scheme in which it pays Rs10 per student to University of Pune. The victim’s family might get insurance upto Rs1 lakh.'

5.     Milind Gaikwad: Died in the freak accident. He had dropped his daughter to school and was waiting for the Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited bus at Swargate. He was hit by the bus and died on the spot. He is survived by wife who is a school teacher. Milind was working for the last five years as an accountant with Hotel O in Koregaon Park.

6.     Pooja Patil, 19, a resident of Sasanenagar, Hadapsar was a second year dental student of Bharati Vidyapeeth. She and her friend were going to college in the morning when the bus hit them. Pooja’s friend Aditi Kamble was injured. Aditi called up relatives and friends and told them about the incident. Her father was also injured in the same accident, and is admitted to Sasoon.

7.     Shweta Oswal, 28, a resident of K-3,Kalyan society, Timber Market Road was knocked down by the ST bus  and was brought to Jehangir hospital at 10.00 am in a critical condition in a state of shock with internal injuries and extremity fractures. Later she was shifted to ICU and was also operated upon. She succumbed to her grievous internal injuries at around 2.30 pm

8.     Shubhangi Suryakant More, 30, homemaker, resident of Guruwar Peth, was going for her sister’s engagement at Kolhapur. While crossing the road on foot, her husband crossed over faster and she was left behind and she was run over by this ST bus. She worked at New Poona Cotton Factory, she is survived by her husband and two daughters.
