State Health & Tourism minister Jaynarayan Vyas on Sunday urged people to change their mindset and stop demanding everything free from state government. Vyas was in the city to inaugurate a super-specialty eye hospital at Vesu.

The eye hospital developed by Bharti Maiya Trust will be home to ultra-modern medical facilities.

In his speech, Vyas spoke on various topics ranging from religion to a person’s duties towards the society. While speaking on medical facilities available in the state, Vyas said that State government’s duty is to promote, guide and help people’s initiatives, who are willing to do something for the society.

“People should change their mindset and start believing that the government is not liable to give all facilities for free including health services. People should come out with initiatives to serve poor people with subsidised medical facilities. The free mindset among people is the result of vote politics and all political parties have promoted it,” Vyas said.

“Speaking about eye problems in the country, there are 6.83 lakh people in this country, who are blind and need eye donations. If family members of every deceased person donate eyes, the need can be solved within 15 days.,” Vyas added.
