Protests against 'My Name Is Khan' in Assam

Shah Rukh Khan starrer My Name Is Khan today faced protests by a section of college students throughout Assam.

Police said the students organised protests in front of Pragjyotish cinema hall in Guwahati against screening of the film. According to the theatre management, they also ransacked a portion of the building before police reached the spot.

There were also reports of protest against screening of the movie from other parts of the state. Meanwhile, Bajrang Dal activists organised a protest against the Pune blast at Rangiya town. They also burnt an effigy of Pakistani president Asif Ali Zardari besides the national flag of the that country, police said.
