New Delhi: Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee today said investigations against former Jharkhand chief minister Madhu Koda were going on and made it clear that no one was above law.
"Investigations are on as per the law and will take its own course. "No one is above the law but let us not generalise it for the whole political class," Mukherjee told reporters on the sidelines of Economic Editors Conference here.
Koda, who was the chief minister of mineral-rich Jharkhand, has been booked by the Enforcement Directorate for alleged violation of the Prevention of Money laundering Act. The Income Tax department also carried out searches at nearly 65 places in connection with alleged amassing of illegal wealth to the tune of Rs2,000 crore.
