Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) activists today attacked the shooting unit of a Telugu movie produced by Lakshmi Prasanna, daughter of noted actor M Mohan Babu at Kompally area here, police said.

Raising pro-Telangana slogans, the activists forcibly entered the house where shooting was underway and allegedly damaged equipment and threw chairs, they said. Police, however, intervened to avert any major loss to the equipment.

"A group of around 20 Telangana activists forcibly entered the house where the shooting of the movie was going on and stopped the unit from going ahead with shooting," a police officer told PTI.

Mohan Babu and Lakshmi, who have joined the movement for unity of Andhra Pradesh recently toured the districts of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema regions and visited the hunger-strike camps of anti-Telangana supporters.

Meanwhile, Petbasheerabad police have booked cases under different sections of IPC against the TRS activists and also against Mohan Babu's sons Manoj and Vishnu following a complaint by some journalists that they were misbehaved while they went to cover the incident.

Later, speaking to reporters, Mohan Babu strongly condemned the attack on the film unit and warned that he would not sit quite and would reply in an appropriate manner if such attacks continued.

"This type of act is highly condemnable. We will not sit quite if such things continue. We want Samaikyandhra Pradesh (unified Andhra Pradesh). I have fans in entire Andhra Pradesh and particularly in Telangana," Mohan Babu said.

The agitators in the Telangana region have attacked cinema halls, burnt effigies of Praja Rajyam chief Chiranjeevi and stalled the screening of films of his son and kin at many places in the last week, after he had extended his support for a united Andhra Pradesh.
