A prisoner on his way to Sabarmati central jail managed too hoodwink three cops and escape to freedom, thanks to the negligence of the officials involved.

The incident happened when three cops were ferrying Razak Poladi alias Poriyo in an ST bus after producing him in the
Siddhpur JMFC court.

Poladi, who was handcuffed, entered the crowded bus along with the three constables. When the bus reached the Kalol bus stop the cops realised that Poladi, an accused in a loot case, was nowhere to be found.

They searched the area but in vain and later returned to the Ranip police station to file a complaint.

Police inspector of the station, SK Vada said that though a complaint was taken with zero hours in Ranip the incident actually happened in Kalol and hence the complaint should be registered there. "I called up the Kalol PI who refused to take
the complaint. Following this I called up DySP of Kalol Usha Rada who said that she was not informed of any such incident happening in her jurisdiction and so advised me to call the DSP, Gandhinagar," said Vada.

He also said that a complaint will also be filed against Kishore Dantani, one of the cops accompanying the prisoner.

"He was very evasive and vague about the whole incident. Earlier he said he escaped from the bus now he is saying he escaped from a hotel room in Siddhpur," said Vada. Poladi was an accused in the loot and kidnap of a land broker.
