The Jammu and Kashmir unit of BJP today took out a protest rally in Jammu accusing the Centre and the state government of failing to control spiraling prices of essential commodities.
Led by BJP legislative party leader and former union minister Chaman Lal Gupta, the activists wore garlands of vegetables and carried essential commodities on their shoulder as a mark of protest over the price rise.
Shouting anti-government slogans, over 1,500 BJP activists assembled at Dogra Chowk and marched through market places in the city.
"Congress-led UPA government and the Omar Abdullah government in the state have broken the backbone of the common man by failing to control price rise of essential commodities," Gupta said.
