Chief minister Sheila Dikshit today exhorted citizens to make efforts to beautify their surroundings and present Delhi as one of the "cleanest" capitals in the world during the Commonwealth Games.
Dikshit, participating at a "Clean Delhi drive" here, said citizens' co-operation was of utmost important to present a beautiful and clean Delhi during the mega event beginning October 3.
She also exhorted the school children to spread awareness about cleanliness and said there has been unprecedented enthusiasm among children about clean Delhi drive.
"We elders can learn a lot from the school children. The Games are not far away. Delhi being a host city is getting ready to welcome visitors, players and officials. It becomes essential to present Delhi as one of the cleanest capitals in the world," she said.
