Jaipur: Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot today asked the state water department to prepare a longterm strategy for conservation of the resources and ensure its proper distribution among people.
Following up previous decisions regarding water conservation, Gehlot directed the officials to discuss its aspects with experts and prepare a long term strategy.
"The CM asked to ensured proper distribution of available water in Indira Gandhi Canal project area of the state and directed the officers to make more efforts for proper water distribution," an official statement said here today.
During a meeting of Rajasthan Calamity Relief Authority, the chief minister also expressed concern over the spread of swine flu in the state. Gehlot directed the health department to upgrade existing testing labs and to impart necessary technical training to doctors and technicians at district level, the statement said.
Gehlot also reviewed the condition of livestock in the state and asked the officials to start cattle feeding centres from January next and organise cattle camps at various places, it said.
