Karnataka Assembly speaker KG Bopaiah on Friday served show cause notices on porn-tainted former Karnataka ministers Krishna Palemar, Lakshman Savadi and CC Patil asking them to explain as to why they should not be barred from entering the assembly in the wake of their act of watching a porn clip in the House.
The trio have been asked to reply by February 13. Their reply would be forwarded to the house committee that would be constituted to probe the entire episode, Bopaiah said.
The house committee would be constituted soon after consulting the leaders of all the political parties in the assembly as they have to nominate the members from their parties. The proposed 6-member committee will have to submit its report by March 12.
The decision of choosing the chairman of the probe committee has been left to chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda.
However, the much talked about probe could be a non-starter as opposition Congress and JD(S) are almost certain to boycott the probe panel as they are demanding immediate disqualification of the three former ministers from their assembly membership.
