Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), which is contesting from seven Assembly seats in Goa, on Thursday announced a list of three candidates.
These include Yuri Alemao, son of Urban Development Minister Joaquim, who is contesting as Congress candidate from another constituency (Cuncolim). Interestingly, Yuri, fielded from Sanguem segment, is not yet a member of NCP.
Both sitting legislators of NCP - Jose Philip D’Souza (Vasco) and Nilkant Halarnkar (Thivim) - figure in the list announced here.
Goa NCP President Surendra Sirsat admitted that Yuri is yet to fill the membership form of the party.
NCP has aligned with Congress for the March 3 polls to elect a new 40-member House. Under a pre-poll arrangement, Congress will contest from 33 and NCP from 7 seats.
