The Dayanand social security scheme initiated by Parrikar during his tenure as chief minister offers pension to elderly above 60 years, widows and the handicapped.

The BJP-MGP alliance has also promised to pay Rs 1,000 per month to women if got elected.

Parrikar said if the combine given a popular mandate, it would ensure that social indicators in the state remain high.
