Police personnel arrested for theft in CM's secretariat

A police personnel has been arrested for allegedly stealing flooring tiles from chief minister's office here, officials said today.

Acting on a tip-off, police yesterday arrested constable Jarnail Singh for allegedly stealing 25 boxes of wooden flooring tiles from chief minister's secretariat.

The stolen material was later recovered from Singh's house in Chatha area on outskirts of the city, they said. A case has been registered against the constable under section 380 of Ranbir Penal code (RPC), officials said, adding Singh has been placed under suspension.
