Phalodi land scam: 2 more arrested in Jodhpur

Two more persons were arrested today in connection with the Phalodi scam, in which farmers' land from Bap sub-tahsil was sold to companies from Mumbai and New Delhi.

Seven persons have been arrested so far in this connection.

Additional superintendent of police (Jodhpur rural) Himmat Abhilash Tak said that after the interrogation of Arjun Meghwal, who was arrested on April 18 from Enka village of Phalodi, they have been conducting raids to nab the culprits.

We arrested Sukhram Bishnoi from Lohawat and Bhakarram Bishnoi from Baap and both have been found to be involved in the scam, he said.

"We also seized Rs2.70 lakh on the tip-off from Arjun Meghwal today, from whom we have already seized Rs7 lakh," Tak said.

While four were arrested by the city police, three others were held by the rural police.

Tak said police raids will continue.
