An association of tanker drivers today decided not to ferry petroleum products to the Kahsmir Valley till the situation there normalises.
 
"There would be no ferrying of petro products to Kashmir Valley till the situation becomes conducive. We are being subjected to attacks in the Valley," general secretary of All Jammu and Kashmir Tanker Drivers and Cleaners Association (AJKTDCA) Balvinder Singh said here.
 
He claimed that no vehicle left this morning for the Valley.
 
He asked the state authorities to ensure for safe return of stranded tankers on Jammu-Srinagar national highway and foolproof security for the drivers and their vehicles.
 
Over 39 tankers suffered damages and seven drivers were injured in attacks in the Valley during past few days, he claimed.
 
President of J&K Petrol Tankers Association (JKPTA) Anan Sharma said that nearly 350 loaded tankers are stranded on the highway due to the closure of the depots.
