People's lives interlinked with nation's status: RSS chief

"If a country is not strong, its citizen face a weak position overseas," Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat said today, referring to attacks on Indians in Australia.
     
Addressing a convention of RSS workers here, he said "people's lives depend on the life of the nation."
     
"Like inflation and unemployment which hit us hard, if a country turns weak, we all will be affected."
     
Flaying developed countries like the United States, the RSS head said their "dominating policies" were responsible for the global imbalance.

"For its citizens which constitute only four per cent of the global population, the US wants to control 80 per cent resources of the world," he said.

Turning to Hinduism, Bhagwat said its expansion was was important for a strong India.
      
"Strengthening Hinduism by rising above caste, sect and linguistic barriers is important for making India a powerful nation," he said.
