Parked bike in Ahmedabad catches fire

Ahmedabad, Ahmedabad: A motorbike, parked near a theatre in Satellite, mysteriously caught fire in the wee hours of Friday. The police said the fire reported at around 12 am completely destroyed the bike. They believe that the bike was deliberately set afire.

The CBZ bike belonged to Khalique Mustaq Mansuri (20), a resident of Thakurbhai Tower, Law Garden, Navarangpura. Mansuri lives as a paying guest at Thakurbhai Tower. According to sources, Mansuri who is from Dahod is a student of Somlalit College in Ahmedabad.He and three of his friends had gone to Wide Angle in Satellite to watch a movie. The late night show ended at 12 am. Mansuri had parked his bike near the parking slot.

Later security personnel at the theatre smelled something burning and went to inspect it. They found the parked CBZ bike afire and quickly called the fire brigade. Mansuri and his friends came to know of the incident only when they came out of the theatre after the show ended.

Mansuri and his friends then called the Satellite police to investigate the matter.

"A fire brigade team soon arrived and managed to douse the flames by 1 am," said a fire official. Satellite police suspect that the bike was deliberately set fire.
