Two days ahead of his swearing-in as Punjab Chief Minister, Parkash Singh Badal today said his government will set up an advisory panel, comprising eminent intellectuals, which will come up with fresh ideas for rapid all-round development of the state.
"The SAD-BJP government proposes to set up an advisory panel comprising eminent intellectuals from different spheres such as economics, IT, business administration, academics, scientists, writers and artists.
"Conditions are ripe for the intelligentsia to step forward from their academic galleries on to the field of actual battle for ideas. The government intends to make use of their ideas into governance and development works," he said in a statement here.
Involvement of intelligentsia would help in improving the speed and scope of implementation of the schemes already in place, like the Right to Service Act.
"We need our intelligentsia to provide effective leadership in various fields such as primary health, education and uplift of the civic and social value system," Badal said.
