Six Pakistani nationals were today detained and their boat seized from near the Sir Creek area in western part of Kutch district, a top BSF official said.

"The Creek Crocodile Commandos, during patrolling, intercepted a Pakistani boat which had ventured deep into Indian water near the Sir Creek area," inspector general of BSF AK Sinha told PTI.

He said they did not find anything suspicious in the boat and the six were later handed over to intelligence agencies for interrogation.

"These Commandos braved high tides and turbulent waters in the Arabian Sea to catch the boat and detained the six Pakistani nationals," Sinha said.

There was no firing by the Commandos who have been specially trained to navigate and guard the Creek area, he said.

In a similar incident yesterday, the commandos had apprehended six Pakistani men who were trying to infiltrate into Indian territory from near Sir Creek area.

Last month, BSF had foiled two infiltration bids by Pakistan fishermen near the Haraminala area on the Indo-Pak border.
