Rahul Gandhi today accused the non-Congress governments in Uttar Pradesh headed by BJP, SP and BSP of "minting money" from Noida, which he said was a brainchild of Congress.

"Noida was the vision of Congress and the city was conceptualised by our party as a modern city and was put on fast development," he said at an election meeting here.

He, however, lamented that "non-Congress governments of BJP, SP and BSP are minting money from Noida, treating it as money extracting machine and farmers are being duped. This was not conceptualised by Congress," he said.

On the Lokpal Bill issue, he said Congress had tabled the the proposed legislation, but "BJP pressed the red button and did not allow it get passed in Parliament."

"They say it is not what they want. Our Lokpal Bill was constitutional one having power like the Election Commission. It was the Prime Minister's dream, my dream and Sonia ji's dream to have the Bill which has constitutional powers. How can non-constitutional Lokpal Bill will be more effective and powerful," he said.
