A five-year-old boy was today killed and 14 other school children were injured when an auto-rickshaw ferrying them was hit by a truck in Nai Bazar area, police said here.
Chetan Bajaj, a class III student of St Marrys School, was killed when the auto-rickshaw in which he was traveling was hit by the truck head-on this morning, they said.
The injured, including 13 students, were rushed to a hospital where condition of three was stated to be serious.
Agitated over the incident locals blocked the road and demanded that entry of heavy vehicles should be banned in the city.
