One dead after falling from crane in Orissa

Dillip Kumar Gour (30) of Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh died yesterday after falling from a height of 50 ft at a private steel plant in Kalinga Nagar industrial complex.

A contractual worker from Uttar Pradesh was killed and another injured while working at a private steel plant in Kalinga Nagar industrial complex near here, sources said today.

Dillip Kumar Gour (30) of Azamgarh district in Uttar Pradesh died yesterday after falling from a height of 50 ft, head of personnel and industry of the company, MD Burma said.

The injured worker has been admitted to the government hospital at Danagadi.

The accident took place when the duo was commissioning a crane that was introduced on April 1, he said.

"Rs 5 lakh as compensation has been given to the family of Gour. The body was sent to his native place," Burma said.

The duo worked for a private firm, entrusted for crane work by the Steel plant.
