Deoria (UP): The local administration has slapped stringent National Security Act (NSA) on six persons for their alleged involvement in a counterfeit currency racket.

Six persons, who were involved in bringing fake currency notes from neighbouring Nepal and circulating them in Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, were arrested by the police recently, a police spokesman here said today.

Taking a stern view on the nature of the crime, NSA has been invoked against these persons who have been identified as Harekrishna Madeshiya, Pheku Yadav, Nel Kumar Tewari, Prabhunath, Dushad and Vijay Kuamr Singh, he added.
