NRG accused of raping Bangladeshi dancer in Ahmedabad

Exactly 3 days before his departure to New Jersey, a Non-Resident Gujarati, Hitendra Mehta, has been accused of raping a Bangladeshi dancer in his bungalow in Manibhadra Society near Surdhara Circle on Tuesday evening. He was allegedly enjoying the dance of the woman and lost control after consuming alcohol. He and his driver allegedly raped the woman in bungalow.  The woman was called to the NRG's house, through a pimp, from Delhi exclusively for the dance party.

According to police sources, she was given liquor after being told it was a cold drink, and later on when she became unconscious she was raped by Mehta, who was also in an inebriated condition. Police sources said that they were intimated about the alleged rape by a friend of the victim. According to police sources, "She was given alcohol, raped and later on thrown out of the house." Police inspector VK Jhala said, "The woman was crying outside the bungalow and some commuters ask her about her problem. She told them to inform a friend, who called the police."

The Sola police have registered a complaint of rape and have arrested Mehta and his driver Tejinath Jogi, for raping the woman.
