The district sessions court on Wednesday reserved order on bail plea of suspended IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt, who had spoken against Gujarat chief minister, for October 17.

On Monday, after the argument of Bhatt's lawyer IH Saiyad, the  special public prosecutor submitted a rejoinder saying police have gather strong evidence against Bhatt and there is a prima facie case against him. He said Bhatt had suppressed some facts from the court and also pointed out that several documents produced in the court have turned out to be forged.

Saiyad, however, denied the allegation and maintained that the state had implicated him in a cooked up case.

Hearing arguments from both the side, the court has reserved the order on the case.

Meanwhile, noted filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, who has been supportive of the suspended incarcerated cop, met his family members at their residence on Wednesday.

After meeting Bhatt’s family, he said Sanjiv Bhatt is ‘a real life hero’ and assured his support to the ongoing campaign for the whistleblower’s release.

After meeting Sanjiv’s wife Shweta, Mahesh Bhatt said. “When my wife asked me where I am going, I replied that I have seen and made many ‘reel’ life heroes in my career, now I am going to meet a ‘real’ life hero in Ahmedabad”.

The filmmaker also said a candle march, as organised in New Delhi, may be held in Ahmedabad and other cities demanding Bhatt’s release.
