Denying that there was any factionalism in its Jammu and Kashmir unit, the Congress today said that it stood united.
The JKPCC is united and carrying forward the policies and programmes of its high command, president of Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) Saif-ud-Din Soz told reporters at a function organised to celebrate 92nd birth anniversary of former prime minister Indira Gandhi at village Satrayan, about 18kms from here, in R S Pura tehsil in Jammu district.
When his attention was drawn that two similar such functions were organised by ministers and senior congress leaders at Pargwal and Langriyali areas of the district, he said, "If such persons organise such a function, I am not worried as we had invited every functionary and minister to attend the function here."
Asked whether it is an act of indiscipline, Soz said, "I won't say that it is an act of indiscipline and we cannot go with a hammer to discipline people. However, we will discuss it."
The party is united, as most of the ministers and functionaries were present at Satrayan to pay tributes to Indira Gandhi, who took several landmark steps in the country as prime minister for the welfare of people.
