The CPI national general secretary AB Bardhan today slammed chief minister Nitish Kumar for inconsistency on the special status demand for Bihar and said that the latter had never sought the same while he was the Central minister during the NDA rule.
Kumar has been vociferously seeking a special status for Bihar since he came to power over five years ago, but had never raised the issue while he was the Central minister during the NDA rule, he told reporters here.
Bardhan also observed contradiction in the Chief Minister's advocacy for the special status to Bihar and said that he failed to understand as to how come a state government demands special favour when it claimed a growth rate of around 12%.
Kumar owed an explanation to the people as to why the state wanted special status when it was scripting a praise worthy growth story, the CPI leader said.
