Vastrapur police arrested 9 eunuchs involved in the internecine gang war on Thursday near Vastrapur Lake. Based on the complaint filed by both the eunuch gangs against each other, police arrested 9 of their members, including 6 of the Nitu De gang and 3 belonging to the Bhavna De gang, on Friday.
In her complaint on Thursday, Renuka Pavaiya, 32, a resident of Behrampura in Jamalpur, alleged that Nitu De aka Rafakat Hussain and his goons pull her out of an auto and beat her up with hockey sticks near Vatrapur Lake at 1pm.
However, Nitu De, a resident of Delhi Chakla area, countered with similar allegations against Renuka and other members of Bhavna De's gang. In her counter compliant, Nitu alleged that Renuka and 3 of her eunuchs stabbed two of her eunuchs.
Acting on these complaints, Vastrapur police arrested 6 eunuchs of Nitu De, including Nitu De her self, Chandni De, Ghazala De, Khushbu De, Zoya De, and Kamini De. They were arrested when they approached the Vastrapur police to file their complaint against Renuka, who works under the leadership of Bhavna De.
After arresting them and taking their complaint, police called Renuka to register her statement and arrested her on Friday. Police also arrested two of her eunuchs, Kashish and Shilpa.
After the death of two of their leaders Sonia De and Sanju De in quick succession, in-fighting between eunuchs has increased in the city. To gain control of the western part of the city, two groups of eunuchs led by Bhavna and Nitu are constantly engaging each other in violent clashes.
In her defence, Nitu De alleged that Bhavna De is speaking ill of her. "I was never declared an outcaste by the eunuch community. It is their strategy to push me and my eunuchs to the margin," said Nitu De, who claimed that Renuka and her eunuch cut their hair at their house and pretended as if it was done by her gang.
