New CPCL managing director assumes charge

Chennai: K Balachandran today assumed charge as the managing director of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL).

Balachandran was previously director, operations, CPCL and headed the profitability and reliability improvement initiatives of the company, a CPCL press release here said.

A chemical engineer, Balachandran has over three decades of working experience in refineries across the country and is well-versed with Investment Proposals, Project Commissioning, Technical Services and Trouble Shooting among others, it said.

He has trained in the Petroluem Refining Engineering at the Indian Institute of Petroleum, Dehradun and Refinery Planning and Economics at the College of Petroleum Studies, Oxford, UK, the release added.
