A group of armed Maoists allegedly set afire a rest house of the British era in the Naxal-hit Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, police said today.
The incident took place yesterday in Kopela area of Sironcha taluka in district following the three-day bandh call given by the Maoists protesting Operation Green Hunt, they said.
Property worth Rs2 lakh was gutted in the fire, police said.
In another incident, a group of naxals opened fire twice on a police party at Laheri weekly market in Bhamragarh taluka and fled from scene but no one was hurt, police added.
